Lawn Cottage is a pretty 18th century cottage with 3 letting bedrooms and an enchanting Shepherd’s Hut in the field behind. The cottage is cosy and colourful, warm and welcoming inside and outside in the delightful garden and field behind. Situated just outside Shaftesbury this bed and breakfast is the perfect accommodation when you want to get away from it all.
Inside the house, three pretty, en-suite bedrooms have TV and tea- and coffee-making facilities. On the ground floor, a super king twin/double and a bunk bedroom open to the rafters and upstairs is a queen double. The hub of the house is the lovely family kitchen, with an Aga, sofa, and house dog, Lottie, in pride of place. Children and dogs are very welcome and the cottage is also suitable for the less able. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and there is a pretty sitting room with a TV for guests to use.
There are benches dotted about the garden, providing quiet spaces to sit and relax in. The back garden is full of roses, peonies, clematis, hellebores, and snowdrops, and the vegetables grow in the sunny front garden!
Situated just outside Shaftesbury, a historic town with great views, cafes and shops, Stour Row is a lovely place to be based for sightseeing or walking throughout Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire. The owner, June, has years of experience guiding guests and helping to make their visit memorable.
Last, but not least, the cosiest Shepherd’s Hut stands proudly in the field with views to die for. From the window, you can see foxes, deer, birds, and, occasionally, the farmer’s sheep. Buttercups fill the field in May and the stars come out at night. The wood burner inside keeps you warm and the fire pit outside does the same. You can cook, make tea and coffee, and really feel close to nature but still use Wi-Fi; it’s the best of both worlds!
